Steve Vai has announced the launch of his official Patreon page on 1 April, 2021.

The Patreon page will host “exclusive content” from the guitar virtuoso, including new episodes of his ongoing Alien Guitar Secrets and Under It All video series, he said in a Facebook post earlier today (26 March). Additionally, supporters will get to take part in gear giveaways and more.

I will be launching my new Patreon site on Thursday, April 1st! I'm excited to share exclusive content including new episodes of Alien Guitar Secrets, Under It All, gear giveaways, and much more.

For now, it’s uncertain if Patreon will be the only future home for all of Vai’s live-streamed content, which he’s been regularly sharing on Facebook. Alien Guitar Secrets discusses guitar- and music-centric topics like technique and gear. On the other hand, the 60-year-old guitarist doles out wisdom on musicianship and life in Under It All.

Earlier this month, Vai released a new instrumental while on the mend from surgeries for his shoulder and trigger finger. Knappsack, which was written and performed on just one hand, is centred around Vai’s signature legato technique.

And in other Steve Vai news, the virtuoso is also set to make an appearance at a massive online fundraiser for ALS-stricken guitar icon Jason Becker. The live-streamed event takes place over the months of March and April on Herman Li’s Twitch channel and on Becker’s own website.
