Tame Impala have announced a new live stream concert, InnerSpeaker Live From Wave House.

The concert, which will take place on 21 April via the Moment House platform, will see the band perform their debut record top to bottom. The concert comes alongside the recent launch InnerSpeaker 10 Year Anniversary Edition, a deluxe, 4LP box set reissue of the album.

In the latest edition of Guitar Magazine, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker told us of the mix of emotions that come with exploring a decade-old album in order to put together the celebratory reissue.

“It was really moving, I didn’t expect it to be,” he said. “I actually found the 16-track recorder that I recorded it on, which I haven’t bothered to pull out of its box for 10 years. I kind of assumed that the hard drive had shat itself, y’know? I didn’t expect it to work! But it just turned on, and all the songs were there… so much has happened since, I’ve kind of forgotten what it felt like to be a wide-eyed kid, unsure of who he is, trying to prove himself through music.”

InnerSpeaker was recorded in remote – that is, in a large isolated house with no internet, not the pandemic meaning of the word – sessions over the summer of 2009. It arrived in May 2010 to critical acclaim, with reviews praising its modern take on 1960s psychedelia.
