Tame Impala covered Lady Gaga during the opening night of their ‘The Slow Rush’ tour in San Diego last night (March 9).
The cover appeared in the first half of the show. Frontman Kevin Parker co-wrote Perfect Illusion with Lady Gaga, for her 2016 album Joanne. You can watch fan-shot footage of the cover, which made its live debut last night, below.

The tour is in support of Tame Impala’s latest record, The Slow Rush. The album was announced last year and preceded by the singles It Might Be Time and Lost in Yesterday.
Parker also recently opened up about the “creative strain” it takes to write a Tame Impala record, saying: “It’s actually the creative side when I have the times where I’m like, ‘Oh fuck, I can’t do this’ or ‘I’m never going to get to a point where I’m happy with this album.’ Even though that creative side’s what I’m best at, that’s the only time where I’m like, ‘Aargh! Fuck this!’”
