The founding lineup of the legendary punk band The Damned are to reunite for the first time in decades at a series of 2021 UK shows.

Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies and Brian James will play together again in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow in July of next year, coinciding with the 45th anniversary of their single New Rose – considered to be the first single ever released by a UK punk group.

The reunion is notable as Dave Vanian and Captain Sensible’s relationship with Brian James and Rat Scabies has reportedly been frayed for decades, and the last time the original four played together was 1991 Rat Scabies also hasn’t played with The Damned since 1996. The setlist will draw from the band’s first two albums, Damned Damned Damned and
Music for Pleasure.

Tickets for the dates go on sale tomorrow (23 October) at 10 AM British time – find out more here.

The list of dates set for the Damned’s reunion is below:

July 2021

9 – Eventim Apollo, London
16 – O2 Academy, Birmingham
