The Rolling Stones Chronicles mini-documentary series launched on YouTube
The six documentary shorts will each feature a different ‘60s era hit song from the Stones, combined with interview clips and historical footage.

The Rolling Stones Chronicles, a mini-documentary series, has been launched online today (9 February).
The online series is hosted via Vevo on YouTube and features six documentary shorts. Each episode has a ‘60s era hit Stones song at its core, and the episodes showcase interview clips, historical documentary footage and historical figures.
Episodes will explore how the Stones’ music intertwined with cultural change during the ‘60s decade such as (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction and the theme of sexual liberation, Street Fighting Man and the social unrest that surrounded the fight for gay rights and racial equality, plus much more.
Episode one of the ABKCO and BBC Motion Gallery produced series is available to watch for free now, with further episodes dropping weekly.

- 9 February – The Last Time (EP1)
- 16 February – (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction (EP2)
- 23 February – She’s A Rainbow (EP3)
- 2 March – Street Fighting Man (EP4)
- 9 March – Jumpin’ Jack Flash (EP5)
- 16 March – Gimme Shelter (EP6)
“The Rolling Stones Chronicles puts the band’s music in context with history,” said Robin Klein, exec producer of the series in a statement. “While they were very much of that time, The Rolling Stones themselves served as a vehicle for, and reflected and inspired change.”
Samira Choudhury, Producer for BBC Motion Gallery also said: “This project provided a unique opportunity to unearth contemporary and authentic voices from the BBC’s rich archive to give deeper meaning to the Rolling Stones’ most influential records, and show how the cultural and societal shifts of the 60s still resonate today.”
