Thurston Moore is the latest guitar hero to grace Fender’s In Conversation video series.
Filmed at Fender’s The Great Escape Festival 2019, the in-depth interview sees the former Sonic Youth man talk at length about his relationship with the Jazzmaster. He detailed his approach towards experimenting with tone, even demonstrating how to wrought otherworldly sounds with a pen slot between the fingerboard and strings.
In addition to gear chat, Moore also offered a retrospective on his Sonic Youth career and shed light on formative musical influences.
