U2 members Bono and The Edge have shared their own acoustic rendition of Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven.

The video is dedicated to the band’s long-serving road crew, with the video jokingly purporting the “fact” that “U2 Crew would much rather work Led Zeppelin. Bono then introduces the song by saying: “There’s one annoying aspect of an Irish crew that has to be said. Wherever you go in the world, whatever venue you’re playing – whether it’s the Olympia or 3 Arena or Madison Square Garden – you walk into the venue and it’s a big moment, and you’ll hear a song that we said, ‘We’ll never, ever play this.’ And that’s right, Stairway to Heaven.”

“These professionals believe they play this better than the band. And you know, it might be true.”

Watch the cover below:

Stairway To Heaven has recently been at the centre of a long-ongoing legal dispute, which only concluded back in March. Led Zeppelin prevailed in the case, with a court restoring a jury’s verdict that the band did not copy Spirit’s Taurus in writing the song.
