A vital TikTok that shows what eight years of progress on guitar has been making the rounds.

The clip shows the same riff (The BeatlesDay Tripper) being played across three ages: 12, 14 and 20 – with the first filmed just a few weeks after starting guitar. Take a look below.

The video, which was shared by the TikTok account @samandaron and has garnered tens of thousands of views across TikTok and Twitter, ends with the caption “see you in a few years.”

Replies to the clip on Twitter, where it was reposted by the guitarist’s father, shared their thoughts on supporting children’s creativity and how the clip had inspired them.

On TikTok, one user was also quick to point out that acquiring an authentic Gibson Les Paul by age 14 is no small feat.
