The collection of Steely Dan’s Walter Becker is set to go under the hammer in October, later this year. The multi-Grammy winning songwriter and co-founder of the 1970s jazz-rock band’s equipment will go up for auction, including a wide range of acoustic and electric guitars from the likes of D’Angelico, Sadowsky, Fender and more.

Set over two days at The Standard Oil Building in Beverly Hills and live online at julianauctions.com, the collection will also include amplifiers, speakers, recording equipment and more ephemera from the esteemed musician. Known for his sublime and identifiable guitar tone, Becker has since been heralded as one of the greatest guitarists of his generation.

Highlights of the auction include Becker’s 1957 Fender Duo-Sonic, – which can be seen in a photograph with Becker in the liner notes for Dan’s seminal album, Aja, from 1977 – his #1 Sadowsky signature model, a 1928 Martin 00 model, alongside two Fender Precision Basses, from 1958 and ’59 respectively.
