Lana Del Rey invited Joan Baez onstage at her Sunday concert in Berkeley, California for a performance of Diamonds & Rust. The folk icon also covered Bob Dylan’s Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright. Watch both performances in the video above, captured by YouTube user Tim Bracken.
Baez came onstage at Berkeley’s Greek Theater, guitar in hand, to cheers and enthusiastic applause. After their rendition of Diamonds & Rust, Del Rey ceded the stage to Baez for a solo Dylan cover. “She is a generous spirit,” Baez said of the pop star. “She is the loveliest person.”
Baez officially retired from touring this year, wrapping up her farewell tour in Madrid, Spain on 28 July. Del Rey, on the other hand, is touring North America in support of her latest album, Norman Fucking Rockwell!, which she released 30 August.
