JHS at NAMM 2015 – Hall B 5267

Worldwide independent trade distributor John Hornby Skewes & Co. Ltd. is taking a superb selection of instruments to NAMM 2015, with a raft of great new models receiving their exclusive unveilings at the show.

Now celebrating their 50th Anniversary year, JHS will be showcasing their hugely popular and award winning

Fret-King, Vintage, Santos Martinez, Pilgrim and Laka ranges of guitars and folk instruments.

Acoustic guitars and instruments continue to dominate the market and JHSare pleased to announce two additions to the very successful Vintage Paul Brett Signature Model range. Designed in conjunction with the acoustic maestro and worldwide acoustic guitar authority the Vintage Paul Brett Gemini Baritone VGE800N and Viaten Tenor VTE800N guitar models will provide an excellent way for any guitarist to vastly expand their repertoire and tonal palette.

In addition, the new Paul Tebbut Pilgrim Mayflower Deluxe VPG900N is a luxurious take on his original 1970’s contoured fibreglass back design, coupling a solid cedar top and a beautiful mahogany/ black flamed maple neck with a burr walnut faced headstock and Fishman Presys + eq system.

The Trev Wilkinson designed Fret-King guitar range will feature a selection of limited edition models, each loaded with the new Fishman Fluence game changing pickup systems that tackle conventional pickup problems such as the age old 60 cycle hum, whilst simultaneously offering the player a choice of two classic voiced pickup options.

Vintage electrics continue to wow players with their impressive build construction, playability and specification. The USA will see the new V120 and V130 single and double cut models which combine Wilkinson WP100-B pickups with the GTBCR Wilkinson compensating bridge and mahogany bodies and mahogany set necks for rock solid tuning and classic tones in a variety of iconic finishes.

For the more contemporary player, the Vintage VRS130 and VRS150 models use the classic-voiced Wilkinson MWCHB double coil pickups for singing sustain and everything from mellow jazz to full on metal tones. The VRS130 again uses the GTBCR compensating hard tail bridge, whilst a Wilkinson WVPC vibrato is employed on the VRS150 models.

Bass players will have plenty to be happy about too with the sleek looks and superb playability of the new Vintage V80 and V90 models. With basswood bodies and Canadian hard rock maple necks, the ingenious new Wilkinson WJMB double coil pickup has been designed to progressively step down to classic jazz bass tones thanks to the inclusion of a clever ‘roll control’.
