Out of the forges of Old Blood Noise Endeavors’ blacksmithery comes its latest stompbox, the Flat Light Textural Flange Shifter. As its admittedly unwieldy name suggests, this pedal isn’t your average flanger. It’s loaded with features that let you conjure sounds from the familiar to the downright exotic.

Flick the three-way switch to choose between three sound modes: Detune, a shimmering pitch shift; Resonate, a highly resonant flanger; and Echo, a reverb-like delay. Four controls help to further shape your sound: “Rate,” “Depth,” “Shift” and “Mix,” with the “Mix” knob letting you dial in dry to wet tones. Hit the “Tilt” footswitch to momentarily maximize both the “Rate” and “Shift” parameters, or hook up an expression pedal to control both simultaneously.

The Flat Light Textural Flange Shifter lists for $199. For more information, check out oldbloodnoise.com.
