Tube amps, not overdrive pedals, inspired the new RevivalDRIVE. The latest release by Origin Effects is a two-channel stompbox that emulates the full circuitry of a tube amp—preamp, phase inverter, power amp, and rectifier stages included.

Two channels, Valve and Silicon Rectifier, give you access to different flavors of power amp sag, and can be controlled via two sets of knobs. Look out for the “Ghost” knob, which lets you dial in ‘ghost note’ effects characteristic of vintage amps. Flick the “Preamp” and “Bright Cap” switches to explore a range of British and American amp flavors. A range of equalizer compensation features built into the pedal lets you fine-tune the output of the RevivalDRIVE to suit your amp.

The RevivalDRIVE also comes in a CUSTOM version, with additional filter/EQ controls. An optional two-button footswitch—it costs extra—allows you to override the “Blend” control, or activate a mid-booster.

The RevivalDRIVE lists for $549, while the RevivalDRIVE CUSTOM lists for $659. For more information, check out origineffects.com.
