Pearl Jam have set up a telephone hotline for fans to call in and preview their upcoming record, Gigaton. The anticipated record is set to arrive later this week, and marks the bands 11th studio album since 2013’s Lightning Bolt.

Fans who call 585-20-PEARL [585-207-3275] are greeted by this telemarketer-style voice message:

“Hello, you’ve reached the Pearl Jam Gigaton hotline. Press 1 to leave a message. Press 2 to opt in to receive updates from the band and preview the new album before it’s out March 27th”.

Rolling Stone also reports that the previews include tracks other than Dance of the Clairvoyants and Superblood Wolfmoon, both of which were released as singles earlier this year.

Dance of the Clairvoyants, the lead single for Gigaton, has been noted for its introduction of electronic elements to the bands overall sound, surprising some long-time fans of the band.

“Dance was a perfect storm of experimentation and real collaboration,” remarked bassist Jeff Ament, “We’ve opened some new doors creatively and that’s exciting.” Take a listen here.

In an interview with Apple Music, guitarist Stone Gossard remarked that writing Gigaton was “a new way of configuring our sort of collaborative talents” and adds that “It’s really us. We really did it by ourselves and [Eddie Vedder] did such a great job of bringing everybody’s personalities out. It was probably different than any of us would’ve made individually, but it really captures, I think, the spirit of the band.”

Gigaton was set to be launched with a one-off Listening Experience of the album in Dolby Atmos, as well as a North American tour, though both plans have unfortunately been postponed due to the COVID-19 emergency. The band’s next show is still set to take place on 23 June at The Festhalle in Frankfurt.
