EHX has reissued its 1970s Dirt Road Special amp, featuring modern improvements to its electronics and a souped up mechanical design for enhanced durability.

Released at Summer NAMM 2019, the updated solid state amplifier is a compact 40-watt unit with a single 12-inch speaker. Where tone is concerned, the 70s Dirt Road Special is designed for powerful yet organic overdrive as well as gritty crunch. These can be achieved via the amp’s interactive volume and Bite controls, the latter of which adds upper harmonics and crunch.

Also included in the new iteration are four reverbs taken from the Holy Grail Max reverb pedal: spring, plate, hall and reverse. These can be toggled through footswitch which comes included.
