Supro and Keeley Electronics have joined forces on a new amplifier, the 1970RK Keeley Custom. The compact 25-watt combo features an all-tube signal path that’s primarily designed for seamless pedal integration.

The preamp and two-band EQ are specifically voiced for running gain pedals in front of the amp while ensuring Supro’s signature meaty midrange isn’t diminished. Additionally, the 1970RK has a transparent effects loop that’s ideal for your delay and reverb stompboxes.

The amplifier features a set of three controls: “Volume,” “Treble” and “Bass,” which grant Supro’s CR10 ten-inch speakers the autonomy to drive the mids. In terms of tubes, the 1970RK sports two ECC83Ses in the preamp and two Tungsol 6V6s in the power section.

“The amp lets your pedals talk to it and feed output tubes with the right sounding signal. With the 1970RK, the amp is stripped [of] everything and lets the tubes and pedals [breathe]. By selecting the ten-inch speakers, you get a nuanced sound of midrange magic,” said Robert Keeley, founder of Keeley Electronics.
