Thunder Case’s new flight case lifts off
With the Flight Case Compact Vault, bring up to four guitars on tour without having to worry about dings and knocks.

Don’t let the plush interior of the new Flight Case Compact Vault fool you into thinking it’s a softie. This thing is tough. The crafters at Thunder Case went the extra mile to make this piece virtually indestructible: It features a formidable, military-grade exterior made of composite polyurea that promises to leave your guitar unscathed when you’re on the road.
The Flight Case Compact Vault weighs between 39 to 49 pounds empty, and is 14 or 19 inches wide, depending on your needs. Soft ester and polystyrene foam are used for padding material, while plush fabric lines its interior—it’s ideal for guitars with nitrocellulose finishes, according to Thunder Case.
Prop it up, and you can even use the Vault as a guitar stand. And if you do, a nice touch protects your axe from the so-called ‘lip of death.’ Thunder Case inserted a layer of foam over the bottom extension of the unit, protecting the lower portion of guitar’s body while the instrument is going in and out of the case.
