Tool announce postponement of North American dates due to coronavirus.

The metal icons are among the latest artists who’ve had tour schedules affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Tool are among the latest artists who’ve had tour schedules affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. In a Facebook post, the band announced a postponement of the first leg of their massive North American tour in support of their latest album Fear Inoculum.

In the Facebook post, the band assured fans that tickets purchased for the affected shows will be honoured at the rescheduled dates, which have yet to be announced. The second leg of Tool’s North American tour is still scheduled to kick off 29 May at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington. Read the full post here:

16 April – Miami, Florida, American Airlines Arena
17 April – Orlando, Florida, Amway Center
19 April – Tampa, Florida, Amalie Arena
21 April – Charlotte, North Carolina, Spectrum Center
22 April – Charlottesville, Virginia, John Paul Jones Arena
24 April – Baltimore, Maryland, Royal Farms Arena
25 April – Uniondale, New York, Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum
28 April – Montreal, Quebec, Bell Centre
29 April – Quebec City, Quebec, Videotron Centre
1 May – Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, Mohegan Sun Arena
2 May – Buffalo, New York, KeyBank Centre
4 May – Toledo, Ohio, Huntington Center
5 May – Grand Rapids, Michigan Van Andel Arena

This is the latest in a string of tours that have been affected. Other artists like Foo Fighters, Slipknot, The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, The 1975 and more have had to make adjustments or cancel their tours for 2020. On the other hand, some artists have taken the lockdown situation to host virtual concerts instead. These include Neil Young and Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard who have both decided to livestream shows from their respective homes.
