German retail titan Thomann has released a comprehensive Tube Screamer shootout video, mustering over 20 versions of the iconic overdrive pedal together in one massive brawl.

The legendary pedal first came into being in the ’70s, and established itself as an essential overdrive stompbox. There have since been innumerable clones, mods and updates of the Ibanez device—and all this has resulted in the eternal question: Which Tube Screamer is for you?

In an attempt to answer that, the folks at Thomann have produced a 30-minute video that pits 22 Tube Screamers against one another. Pedals tested include the TS808 reissue, the Way Huge Green Rhino, the Maxon OD9 and the JHS Moonshine.

The first part of the clip sees a single riff played through each and every pedal at relatively the same settings. The second part, meanwhile, covers the pedals’ unique controls and involves plenty of knob twiddling.
