Xotic Effects’ Bass RC Booster has recently received an upgrade. Like its predecessor, the Bass RC Booster V2 is designed to deliver additional clarity and definition to bass guitar tone.

The new V2 incorporates some changes to the original circuitry, introducing an additional gain stage to the pedal that can be tweaked via the independent gain knob. The Bass RC Booster V2 retains the original’s true bypass switching, keeping the bass guitar signal unaltered with the pedal disengaged.

The Bass RC Booster V2 has a total of 20dB of clean boost on tap and comes with a two-band active EQ – bass and treble – to further shape the tone. A separate footswitch on the left now allows users to toggle between having the additional gain stage in play or not. The Bass RC Booster V2 can also take a step-up converter to be run at 18V for higher fidelity, less compression and more headroom.

Xotic Effects also recently announced two new volume pedals – the XVP-250K and the XVP-25K. The former is more suited for use with passive instruments while the latter is a better fit for instruments with active outputs or an effects loop. Both feature die-cast aluminium housings and a tuner-out.
