Not so. Sourced by Old Hat Guitars proprietor Norman Mitchell from its previous owner in Mexico City, it’s a remarkable example of a first-year Les Paul and those glorious P-90 pickups sing with a voice as golden as its paint job.

The amplifier against which it leans is only two years its junior, and another Les Paul signature product – the much underrated, tremolo-loaded GA-40. Visit Old Hat Guitars in Horncastle, Lincolnshire and make a donation to Cancer Research to see more of Norman’s golden wonders in the flesh.
