The Black Mass 1312 is a wonderful, loud and gritty distortion pedal based on a modified RAT circuit. Eight total clipping options provide various flavours of dirt, including everything from the squishy compression of germanium to the bassy thunk of LEDs.

Running at 18 volts internal, the pedal has much more volume and headroom than a standard RAT, and very wide sweep of the gain knob. But it also has a surprising amount of clarity when you need it to, making it great for crunchy, shoegazey chords.
