Rare Earth Music’s latest creation may just be a gamechanger for pedalboards. The boards—which the brand touts as the “world’s first”—uses magnets to secure and power your stompboxes, eliminating clutter and the need for adapters.

Dubbed the Earthboard, the patented design is an ecosystem that combines rare-earth magnets, an aluminum rail system, and a rechargeable battery. You’re meant to attach a metal plate, called the Gravity Boot, to each stompbox and, instead of sending a cord to a power supply, tether it to the Gravity Boot. Position the pedal anywhere along the aluminum rail—and you have power.

The power comes from the rechargeable battery. Similar to the Gravity Boot, you attach the power supply to a Battery Boot and slot it anywhere on the board. It sends power through the positive- and negative-charged aluminum rails. Rare Earth Music claims the Earthboard is capable of delivering isolated, noise-free power.

This all means you can arrange and rearrange pedals—of any size and voltage requirements—without having to deal with cable ties, daisy chains and all sorts of adapters.

Earthboard comes in three sizes: to fit five, seven or 11 standard-sized pedals. Each package comes with the rechargeable battery, a Battery Boot, several Gravity Boots, several power tethers, and, of course, the LED-lit board itself.
