Dwarfcraft’s Gold Standard Eau Claire Thunder is a refresh of its flagship distortion box

Dwarfcraft has unveiled the Gold Standard Eau Claire Thunder, a limited-edition version of its flagship distortion pedal.

Limited to 72 units, the Gold Standard was designed with germanium diodes and NOS Fairchild 2n5133 transistors. According to the brand, the use of these components reduced the gain, resulting in a warmer circuit that’s a touch more “woolly” and versatile than the more aggressive original. The Gold Standard also features some other design modifications – as requested by touring musicians – like a smaller enclosure and top-mounted jacks.
