Gruv Gear has unveiled Kapsule, a gig bag formulated around the travelling musician’s needs. With a volume of over 17 litres, this case has enough space for your instrument, accessories and even clothing.

Kapsule has already accrued over $27,000 in crowdfunding on Indiegogo. Here’s a snapshot of its features:

Protection

The case features a tough polycarbonate shell and a thick inner layer of lightweight expanded polystyrene that is 98 per cent air, according to Gruv Gear. The brand further claims that the inner layer provides “excellent shock absorbency and insulation”, protecting your instrument from impact.

Another protective feature of the case is its Iso Chamber, which reduces the risk of headstock damage by maintaining the headstock in suspension.

Storage

As mentioned earlier, Kapsule also doubles up as luggage, having extra storage space for accessories and up to three days’ worth of clothing. The company is also planning to add compression cubes, designed to fit even more items into the case.

Additionally, the Kapsule comes with snap-on wheels for increased mobility.

Security

Besides a TSA lock, Kapsule features a Global Recovery Tag powered by HomingPIN. Integrated at over 2,800 airports around the world, this system makes it easier to locate lost baggage. Each Kapsule will come with a unique tag number and QR code which, when scanned, will notify the owner of the bag’s location.
