NAMM 2020: Images posted to the Ibanez RG Fans Facebook group seem to confirm the existence of a new Steve Vai Signature PIA from Ibanez, most likely to be unveiled officially at NAMM.

As Gear News reports, assuming the images from the group are legitimate, they reveal the basic specs, finish options and prices of a new Steve Vai PIA model. The images, taken of an unknown product catalogue, show us a familiar body outline, with the classic ‘Monkey-Grip’ hole replaced by a new design – something akin to the two halves of a yin-yang symbol.

The images also show an Ibanez Edge Tremolo bridge, a H-S-H pickup arrangement and gold hardware on all four finishes: Envy Green, Sun Dew Gold, Panther Pink and Stallion White. Further specs revealed are as follows:

  • PIA Five-piece Maple/Walnut neck
  • Alder body
  • Rosewood fretboard with PIA/blossom inlays
  • Jumbo Stainless Steel frets with Prestige fret end treatment
  • DiMarzio UtoPIA pickups in all there positions
  • Luminlay side dots

Check out the photos over at gearnews.com. As there is no official confirmation about these models from Ibanez or Steve Vai yet, be sure to stay tuned to Guitar.com for updates.
