Slide guitarist Sonny Landreth has announced a new album, Blacktop Run, and shared first title-track single from the record. You can take a listen above.
The acoustic track features his signature blend of fingerpicked, blusey slide guitar playing and Zydeco music – dubbed ‘slydeco.’ While the track Blacktop Run is a subdued acoustic number, the other nine on the album will range from this to more experimental, electric instrumental tracks, showcasing Landreth’s accomplished and innovative playing style.
Blacktop Run follows his previous Grammy-nominated 2017 album Recorded Live In Lafayette and 2015’s Bound by the Blues, which was nominated for the Blues Music Awards’ Best Guitarist and Best Blues Album awards.
