Jimi Hendrix (1942–1970) was an American guitarist and singer-songwriter known for his work in psychedelic rock and electric blues. Active from 1963, he led the Jimi Hendrix Experience and released Are You Experienced and Electric Ladyland. He is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.
