Mark Knopfler OBE (1977-present) is a British guitarist and singer-songwriter known for his fingerstyle technique. Co-founding Dire Straits, he led hits like Brothers in Arms (1985). As a solo artist, he's released nine albums and composed film scores, including Local Hero (1983). Ranked among Rolling Stone's top guitarists, he's won four Grammys and entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
