Ernie Ball Music Man announces Ball Family Reserve April collection

Three new guitars have joined the Ball Family Reserve collection. Ernie Ball Music Man has announced the Axis Super Sport with a buckeye burl top, James Valentine Vintage Sunburst, and yet another John Petrucci signature axe. And like all other Ball Family Reserve models, these come in extremely limited quantities.

Axis Super Sport Buckeye Burl Top

This version of the Axis Super Sport screams “I’m expensive!” It features an African mahogany body with an incredibly exotic-looking buckeye burl top, and a roasted maple neck and fretboard. Hand-fitted black bindings, all-black hardware and—you guessed it—black humbuckers add a touch of class to this guitar, of which only 80 pieces will be produced.

John Petrucci Majesty Sahara Burst

This John Petrucci Majesty boasts a beautiful oversized flame maple ‘shield’ on an African mahogany body and roasted top. A dark ebony fretboard with “Majesty” inlays, a satin-finished back and a tremolo backplate autographed by the Dream Theater man round up the other highlights of this instrument. Only 36 of these pieces will be available.

James Valentine Vintage Sunburst

This James Valentine signature guitar has been upgraded with: a Three-tone Sunburst finish atop a slab ash body; a figured flame maple neck finished in satin; and white fretboard bindings and markers. Only 46 pieces will be produced.
