Kemper has announced its Profiler MK 2 Series, bringing a “new era” of guitar profiling and digital effects.

Promising “more power, more flexibility and more creative potential than ever before”, the new series sees updated versions of the brand’s existing Head, Rack, Stage, Player and powered units, each powered by an upgraded processing engine for “faster performance” and a boot time of around just 20 seconds.

Chief among the new features for the series is a new approach to effects, with seven extra blocks bringing the total number available to 20, offering the “most powerful effects architecture ever found in a Kemper unit”.

Each effect runs with zero latency. “It’s like having an entire, fully integrated pedalboard with pedal essentials at your feet – but one that boots in seconds, never needs rewiring, and always remembers your settings,” Kemper says.

The additional effects this time around come in the form of a new Noise Gate (Palm Ninja), Compressor, Pure Booster, WahWah, Vintage Chorus, Air Chorus and Double Tracker.

Of course, at the core of Kemper’s profilers is the profiling technology itself, which has been revamped for the MK 2 Series, too.

The MK 2 Series’ profiling sees more than 100,000 individual frequency points analysed for the “most precise amp recreation ever achieved”, Liquid Profiling Technology for integrating the original amp’s gain and tone controls, and “next-level” speaker and dynamically adjustable cabinet resonance.

Kemper has also placed emphasis on greater portability for the Profiler Mk 2 Series. Highlighting the Profiler Stage Mk 2, in particular, the brand says it features new lightweight components “making it even more gig-friendly without sacrificing the tank-like build quality musicians rely on”.

Other features include eight-channel USB audio support for “seamless” multitrack recording and reamping directly into your DAW with no external interface, an updated looper with two minutes of recording time, and performance upgrades speeding up boot times, preset switching and UI responsiveness.

“The new Profiler MK 2 Series makes the Profilers feel more like a complete rig than ever before,” says Kemper Founder and CEO Christoph Kemper. “With instant access to essential FX, full USB audio integration, and improved playability, we’re giving our users a platform that adapts and grows with them.”
