Positive Grid has launched NEO, a guitar rig built into a pair of headphones, for its ever-expanding Spark range of smart amplifiers and modern playing solutions.

Described as “a groundbreaking fusion of smart guitar amp technology, AI-powered features, and studio-grade sound, now built into wireless headphones”, the Spark NEO is designed to enable private playing anywhere, with easy-to-use features and handy presets all on board.

Spark NEO combines Positive Grid’s award-winning guitar amp technology with wireless connectivity and guitar tone customisation via AI. It’s built with custom-designed 40mm drivers and a lightweight bio-fiber diaphragm. An included wireless transmitter pairs any guitar with the headphones so you can simply plug-and-play, while a built-in 1/4” input can also support traditional guitar cables.

There are four, on-board customisable guitar presets, and by using the Spark app, players can further unlock additional presets and advanced tone controls, including 33 amps, 43 effects, and over 100,000 tones via its online ToneCloud, to be exact. Spark NEO also doubles as a regular pair of premium Bluetooth headphones for music and podcast playback, plus it also has a compact, foldable build and rechargeable battery with up to six hours of play time.

Back in January, Guitar.com reviewed Positive Grid’s Spark Edge – a guitar amp that doubles up as a portable mini-PA with four independent channels – and scored it a mighty 10/10. We noted that the Edge had seamless connectivity, with easy use of its companion app, and impressive volume with brilliant onboard sounds.

The Spark NEO is priced at $199, including the headphones, wireless transmitter, and access to the Spark App. For more information, head over to Positive Grid.
