James “Munky” Shaffer (born 1970) is an American guitarist and co-founder of nu metal band Korn, active since the late 1980s. Known for his innovative playing, he also leads side projects including Fear and the Nervous System and runs Emotional Syphon Recordings. His work with Korn, including key albums like “Follow the Leader,” shaped nu metal’s sound and influence.
