The Smiths (1982-1987, Indie Rock) were signed to Rough Trade Records and are remembered for their key albums "The Queen is Dead" (1986) and "Meat is Murder" (1985). Their final album, "Strangeways, Here We Come" (1987), earned them the NME Award for Best British Album.
