Keen to add a dream pop edge to your guitar tone? Catalinbread’s new eight-voice chorus pedal might be the answer. The Wake pedal will make it feel like you’re still dreaming, capturing the soft, woozy tones of your deepest slumber.

Catalinbread’s Wake pedal serves as the perfect tonal thickener for lush, atmospheric tones. While the additive chorus effect already beef out your sound, an independently mixable octave down circuit allows you to add even more depth to your tone.

Alongside its octave control, the pedal has boasts three other knobs, allowing you to teak mix, rate and depth. The pedal also works “with your other pedals rather than against them”, allowing it to seamlessly integrate into your set up.

Considering the pedal is designed to work comfortably with the other pedals in your signal chain, the real charm lies in its ability to enhance your guitar’s dynamics.

YouTuber AndyDemos has been entrusted with demoing the new pedal, and he’s done a cracking job. Right out the gates, his tone sounds like its been plucked from the 90s. The demo is reminiscent of the era’s dreamy, neo-psychedelic alt rock offerings, a-la Mazzy Star or The Cure.

Throughout, Andy also showcases how each knob can add a distinctive spark to your tone and enhance your other effects pedals. From the weight-adding octave controls, to the mix’s pitch-shifting vibrato.

There’s also more subtle quirks when combining the rate and depth controls, while the guitarist also explores the pedal’s ability to “expand cinematic reverb and delay settings”. Overall, it’s a thorough exploration of the Wake’s potential.

The Catalinbread Wake costs just over £152 and is available now.
