Electro-Harmonix has unveiled the S8 Multi-Output Power Supply. It’s not the first non-effects pedal reveal we’ve seen from EHX recently – the launch comes soon after the introduction of the brand’s wireless headphone range.

The power supply provides seven 9v outputs, each with a maximum current of 250mA, and one 18v output, with a maximum of 150mA. The outputs are individually regulated, greatly reducing noise, and the unit provides short circuit prevention for each. The unit is not, as so many power supplies market themselves as, “isolated” in the truest sense of the word – the power sockets all share a ground, and effectively function as a daisy-chain. Keep this in mind if you run pedals that don’t work without isolated outputs, as this can create noise issues in some cases.

The small dimensions of the unit (93.5mm x 42mm x 36mm) and low weight (140g) means it can be easily incorporated into even the most portable boards. Its metal chassis should also provide peace of mind for those taking it on the road.

The S8 lists for $79.99. More information at ehx.com.
