In the second episode of Fender’s Dream Factory series, master builder Carlos Lopez talks about resurrecting the Marauder – a rare ‘60s offset guitar that, at its time of release, fell by the wayside. As Lopez states, the world wasn’t ready for the kind of guitar it would turn out to be.

However, in 2020, this rare gem lives again, thanks to both Lopez and Delta Spirit guitarist Matthew Logan Vasquez. The Dream Factory version features an in-built delay circuit, integrated into the control plates surrounding the pickguard.

Take a look at the episode above, in which Lopez dives into the building process for the guitar. Vasquez also talks about how he approached the challenges of integrating the delay circuit into the guitar – such as making the on/off switch horizontal, so it wouldn’t be accidentally activated by strumming.
