Luthier and writer Gerry Hayes has announced the expansion of his Sketchy Setups range of guitar setup guides. Three new ebooks covering Fender Offset Guitars, Locking Trem-equipped axes, and Acoustic Guitars join the line-up of digital guides.

In a statement about the three new books, Hayes said: “These new ebooks address the most requested instruments since Sketchy Setups originally launched. They cover more subject matter but stick to the Sketchy Setups vision of being filler-free and easy to follow. All of the guides focus only on just one type of instrument so there’s less friction when you’re learning – why read about 3-saddle Telecasters when you’re setting up a Floyd Rose?”

The guides also focus on approachability, each carrying a strong visual element. “Every page begins with paper, pencil, and ink,” said Hayes, “Think of them like a setup comic book. They’re friendly, fun, and much less intimidating for someone new to guitar setup.”

The seven guides now available in Hayes’ Sketchy Setup series now include seven editions:

  1. The Fender Stratocaster
  2. The Fender Telecaster
  3. Gibson Guitars
  4. Fender Precision and Jazz Basses
  5. Fender Offset Guitars
  6. Locking Tremolo
  7. Acoustic Guitars

Each is available as a digital download in PDF format, priced from $6 to $8, or in various reduced-cost bundles). Find out more at hazeguitars.com.
