Gibson has unveiled a signature Melody Maker axe for 5 Seconds Of Summer lead guitarist Michael Clifford. Developed during the past 5SOS world tours, this double-cutaway model melds enhanced playability with a timeless Gibson look.

Clifford’s signature model features a swamp ash body – a tonewood regarded for resonance – as well as a rounded maple neck touted to deliver both sustain and comfortable playing. The guitar’s black 12-inch-radius Richlite fingerboard is styled with red acrylic ‘X’ inlays.

As for electronics, this Melody Maker is loaded with a single PAF-style Burst Bucker 3 humbucker at the bridge. Control options include a master volume – with push/pull coil-splitting – a tone control and a Kill Switch toggle. The latter enables you to toggle the guitar’s signal on or off, arming you with more performance effects.

In terms of hardware, the axe sports a tune-o-matic bridge, stop bar tailpiece and mini-Grover Kidney tuners. Wrapping up the guitar’s look is a stealth-like Jet Black Cherry finish.
