Hughes & Kettner has launched a new series of Spirit amplifiers, entitled the Spirit Nano.

The three tiny amps (Spirit of Metal, Spirit of Rock, Spirit of Vintage) are centred around the company’s proprietary Spirit Tone Generator tech, which recreates the response of tube amplifiers using unique analogue circuitry. And, despite their diminutive stature, the amps can deliver up to 50 watts at 4 ohms, or 25 watts at 8 ohms.

They all also come with a built-in Red Box cabinet simulator for silent headphone practice, as well as a sag control to dial in some power amp saturation.

The Spirit of Vintage offers up old-school shimmery clean, all the way up to rock n’ roll crunch, while the Spirit Of Rock moves one era later to stadium-filling stack sounds. Finally, the Spirit Of Metal aims to offer everything from ‘80s heavy metal to modern djent.

The units each weigh in at 1.1 kg or 725 grams without their power supply – so won’t break your back on the way to a gig.

The Spirit Nano family will ship in October 2020 for €199 each. Find out more over at hughes-and-kettner.com.
