NAMM 2020: Ovation Guitars has announced the opening of the Ovation Custom Shop. Located in New Hartford, Connecticut, it features a small team of luthiers and technicians specialising in custom-made Ovation guitars.
Ovation General Manager Rick Hall said of the opening: “the luthiers in New Hartford represent the ‘best-of-the-best.’ They not only hand-craft these premium instruments but also help in the design process to bring custom guitars to reality. This simply could not be accomplished without their years of highly specialised experience.”
The Custom Shop will also be home to the newly-announced Ovation Workbench, where owners can ship their Ovation guitars for setups, repairs or updating. This allows the repair work or customisation to be fully authorised, as it will be performed by accomplished specialist luthiers and technicians.

Ovation also announced the first two products that will be coming out of its Custom Shop – two limited runs of the Adamas 1687GT and the Adamas 2087GT. These premium acoustics feature Ovation’s unique body contouring and soundhole placement.
