OPFXS has launched the Dig Deep, an octave pedal with a twist: it only tracks the lowest notes of your playing.

This means that it will effectively act as if a bassist is accompanying you, following on your chord progression – without the strange sounds octave-down pedals can create when they track higher notes.

The pedal comes with only two controls: Clean, which controls the level of the dry signal, and Depth, which controls the level of the octave-down signal. The pedal might prove useful to solo guitarists looking for some low-end in their sound, or just to thicken up a distortion sound. There’s also the potential to use this pedal in conjunction with more than just a guitar.

OPFXS says that the pedal will accurately track arpeggios and strummed chords, “even complex chords and inversions” – listen and judge for yourself with the demo below.

The Dig Deep lists for €150. Find out more at OPFXS.com.
