Summer NAMM 2019: Jackson lifts lid on truckload of updated guitars
Fresh appearances for the Pro SL2P, X Series SL3X, JS Spectra bass and JS Minion models.
Having just introduced a variety of signature models, Jackson is keeping up the pace with new finishes and updates for its existing lines. The refreshed models include the Pro SL2P, X Series SL3X, JS Spectra basses and the pint-sized JS Minion models. Here’s a snapshot:
New finishes for Pro SL2P, X Series SL3X
The Pro Soloist SL2P is now available in a dark-hued Carmel Burst finish with matching headstock. Aesthetically, the new dark finish brings out the details in the poplar burl top, which sits above a resonant mahogany body.
In contrast to the SL2P’s muted appearance, the X Series Soloist SL3X stands out with an “intense” Neon Yellow finish. This isn’t the SL3X’s first bright outfit, as the guitar was previously offered in a striking Neon Orange finish.
The Carmel Burst SLP2 lists at £979, and the Neon Yellow SL3X at £609.
Updates to JS Spectra basses
The basses in the JS Spectra line have been modified with new quilt maple tops that complement their offset poplar bodies. The 34-inch-scale JS3Q sports a cosmic Amber Blue Burst finish while the 35-inch-scale JS3QV arrives in an otherworldly Alien Burst finish.
The updated basses list at £330 (JS3Q) and £380 (JS3QV).
Updates to JS minions
The Minion electrics have been spruced up with a host of new finishes. These include a Metallic Blue Burst for the Dinky Minion JS1X, as well as Snow White for the Dinky Minion JS1XM and the RR Minion JS1XM. Also on the new-finish list is the four-string Concert Bass Minion JS1XM, which is now available in Satin Silver, Pavo Purple, Satin Black and Snow White.
The JS1X lists at £150, the Dinky Minion and RR Minion JS1XM’s at £160 each, and the Concert Bass Minion JS1XM at £180.
