Wilco team up with Reverb to sell instruments from their famous Chicago studio

Indie rock pioneers Wilco is teaming up with Reverb to sell instruments from their famous Chicago studio, the Loft.
Named the Official Wilco Loft Reverb Shop, it will feature rare instruments ranging from vintage guitars, amps, pedals and a one of a kind pedal to a 100-year-old organ. The shop will also sell instruments used on Wilco tours.
Some of the available gear includes two Avalon AD2022 rack preamps used by frontman Jack Tweedy for 15 years, and Nels Cline’s Carr Impala combo amplifier, which has been played at NYC solo gifs and taken on several non-Wilco tours.
A rare Standel Custom Electric guitar from the mid-60s will also be on offer, which the loft’s studio manager, Mark Greenburg, has said looks like the “Millennium Falcon”. This will be accompanied by a 1963 Gibson Everly Bros in a natural finish, which is one of Gibson’s rarest acoustic guitars, and a Martin 0-18K built in 1933 in player-used condition.
Among the rare gear on offer, is a Burdett pump organ that is over 100 years old.
“[It’s] been a staple on the space for years and made its way on many recordings,” says Greenburg. “Though we love it, it takes up a pretty large footprint, and in the name of freeing up space, we are ready to let this go. If you love something, set it free.”
This is not the first time that Reverb has partnered with artists to help artists get their gear into the hands of fans. Billy Corgan, Nancy Wilson of Heart, and Peter Frampton among many others all used the selling platform to distribute their much-loved gear.
