Gibson’s Gary Clark Jr Signature SG earns a new finish: Vintage Cherry
The Grammy Award-winning guitarist’s signature axe now sports a luscious red finish.

Good news for those who don’t fancy the Gloss Yellow of the Gary Clark Jr Signature SG, which debuted last year. Gibson USA has added a new—but familiar to SG fans—finish to this piece: Vintage Cherry.
Apart from the color, the guitar is identical to the original version, which was released late last year. Both boast a mahogany body, ’60s-style ‘Slim Taper’ neck, and mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays on a rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets. A Tune-o-matic ABR bridge with an aluminum stoptail, and a set of locking Grover tuners are two of the other features shared by both editions of the bluesman’s signature instrument.
However, the pickups on this signature axe aren’t the typical humbuckers you’ll find on an SG. Rather, it has three Gibson P-90s, giving you more options and your tone extra edge and clarity.
The Gary Clark Jr Signature SG Vintage Cherry lists for $1,499. For more information, check out gibson.com.
