Orange Amplification has launched Orange Learn, an online course for learning electric rock guitar. There are many online courses available for guitarists, including countless free lessons on YouTube, however, Orange’s is the first to be fully accredited in the UK and EU – meaning guitarists can achieve a certificate equivalent to UK grade 8 by taking the course.

The courses are split into three stages, Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced – all of which can be taken solo, or with a tutor. Along with the lessons, resources for the course include various backing tracks and tests developed by a team of teachers and guitarists, designed to cater to students of any skill level.

Each Orange Learn course links into its respective OFQUAL-recognised online guitar exam, provided by OnlineMusicExams. A grade 8 equivalent certificate is reached in only three exams, meaning Orange Learn courses could be far cheaper than traditional routes. Indeed, Orange Learn is focused on making these qualifications more accessible. Orange says it recognises “the need to reduce the costs of learning for all musicians to improve their chances of gaining qualifications for a future career and are proud to have pioneered this project.”

The lessons and resources are accessed with either a monthly subscription to all 3 courses or a one-off payment which gives entry to the preferred course.
