Feel like you’ve missed out on the week’s biggest releases? No worries, we’ve got you covered with a list of the best and latest guitar tracks. Here are four that you have to hear:

When Am I Gonna Lose You by Local Natives

When Am I Gonna Lose You is one of two new singles from Local Natives, who are readying their next album, Violet Street. The accompanying video for this tune features a lonely Kate Mara, whom you might remember from the Netflix series House Of Cards.

Singou by Kukangendai

The Kyoto, Japan-based trio bring together the polyrhythms of math rock, repetition of minimalism and cosmic energy of psychedelic in this sprawling new track. There’s much more going on besides Junya Noguchi’s excellent, spidery guitar work, however. Singou is a masterclass in percussion, with drummer Hideaki Yamada in the driver’s seat the whole way through.

Singou is off the band’s forthcoming full-length Palm, which arrives on 26 April. Interestingly, the album comes courtesy of Ideologic Organ, the label founded by Sunn O))) mastermind Stephen O’Malley.

For The Sun by Marissa Nadler and Stephen Brodsky

Five years after they first met, Marissa Nadler and Stephen Brodsky (of Cave In and Mutoid Man) have joined creative forces for a collaborative album, Droneflower. Its first single, For The Sun, is all ominous guitars and breathy vocals from Nadler.

1 Thing by T.S.O.L

Southern California punk stalwarts T.S.O.L have put their own spin on 1 Thing, Amerie’s 2005 radio hit. They keep the go-go groove intact, but add growling guitars, dramatic backing vocals and a political interpretation of the lyrics.

Keep up with the latest music news here.
