Greta Van Fleet release new single from The Battle At Garden’s Gate, Heat Above

Greta Van Fleet have released the latest single from their forthcoming record The Battle At Garden’s Gate, entitled Heat Above. The organ-led track is the opener to the album, which arrives on 16 April.

Sam Kiszka, bassist and keyboardist for Greta Van Fleet, said of the track: “There’s plenty of love left in this world, even though it may not seem like it. And that’s what Heat Above is about, rising to the stars together.”

The band have received both praise and criticism from their breakout recordings, which bore some sonic resemblance to Led Zeppelin. Talking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music, singer Josh Kiszka acknowledged this, but also said the upcoming album’s tone departs from that sound: “I think we’re at that point actually where we can finally say, yeah, Led Zeppelin’s obviously a big influence for us because we are not making music that sounds really anything remotely like that.

“What The Battle at Garden’s Gate is the coming of age of the sound of Greta Van Fleet and how Greta Van Fleet relates to the 21st century.”
