The Black Keys’ comeback is official: In June, the Akron, Ohio duo will release their ninth studio album, Let’s Rock. It will feature the brand-new single, Eagle Birds.
The blues-rock number is enlivened by some sizzling solos from Dan Auerbach, which may be why Patrick Carney described the track in a statement as “an homage to electric guitar”. He added, “We took a simple approach and trimmed all the fat like we used to”.
Eagle Birds is one of 12 tracks on Let’s Rock, which will arrive 28 June on Easy Eye Sound/Nonesuch Records.
