Nita Strauss has announced an online guitar lessons program, entitled Rock Guitar Fundamentals. As its name suggests, it takes a look at foundational elements of guitar playing – all from the rock player’s perspective.

The course is divided into three modules, each of a different skill level: Module One is designed for beginners, covering the basics such as fretting notes and pick technique. Module Two takes a more intermediate approach, covering more advanced techniques as well as diving into music theory. Module Three is the most advanced, covering things such as sweep picking, legato and whammy-bar tricks.

The full Rock Guitar Fundamentals course also includes tabs, standard notation and Guitar Pro files, and allows for access to the lessons from any device with an internet connection.

In a statement about the course, Strauss said: “I see so many people online saying they want to play guitar, but have no idea where to start. And many more experienced players that get frustrated by technique and theory. So I wanted to create a step-by-step course that explains everything clearly from a rock player’s perspective.

“If you’ve never picked up a guitar before and you start this course from the beginning, as long as you’re willing to put in the time you’ll end up with a great knowledge base to play solos, write songs and play onstage with a band!”
